Chris Cluny

Founder

Chris was a wholesaler in Bradford Market and had been for over 20 years. As Class One took off the decision was made for Chris to bring his knowledge and experience to the business.

Diane Cluny

Founder

Class One started life as a market stall on Skipton High Street in 1990. Run by Diane, Her ethos then was quality at the right price, values which are still at the heart of Class One today. The reputation started to grow and local chefs asked for direct delivery. Diane ran the stall and Class One simultaneously for 4 years before deciding wholesale rather than retail was the way forward.

Ben Cluny

Managing  Director

After qualifying as a trained chef from Thomas Danby College in Leeds, I worked at the AA Rosette hotel, The Red Lion at Burnsall. After learning the importance of quality produce matched with unrivalled service I made the decision to leave the kitchen and follow my destiny! As a 3rd generation Greengrocer the early starts, long hours and hard work were all just part and parcel of the job and the passion to source and supply the finest ingredients to Chef’s every morning is stronger than ever.

Has been with the company for over 7 years. Using my experience gained in Michelin Star kitchens I know what a chef needs from a supplier and have helped develop Class One into the reputable company it is.

I have an extensive background working for a national dry goods company. I now have developed a keen eye for detail working in a business where quality is everything. I’ve working in Fresh Produce customer services for the last 15 years. Delivering outstanding customer service has always been an essential part of a day’s work for Me. As Class One’s Office Manger, I’m responsible for all office procedures and uses my organisational skills to ensure smooth operations in a busy work environment.

I have been with the company since 2016. Worked throughout kitchens (which include winning AA rosettes for 4 consecutive years) and run my own catering businesses for over 20 years. Knowledge gained through working in the catering front line is proving essential in being able to relate to our customers and build close working relationships.

I have recently joined the team here at Class One. Having built a career in the hospitality industry with the later years focused on sales and revenue I have joined the business looking to utilise my knowledge of catering and customer service skills.

I’m in my second year as an apprentice with Class One now. I’m loving all aspects of the job (even the early mornings…..) I play rugby for Wharfedale 2nd team on a weekend.

I have over 16 years working in this industry starting off has a delivery driver before working my way up to been a transport supervisor before taking on the roll here at class one has transport manager were I have been for the past 6 months my role is to look after a team of 10 drivers and to to make sure all our vehicles are out on time loaded correctly while also making sure our vehicles are looked after and serviced.my long time goal is to make sure we meet all our customers delivery  requirements and for my team to build up bond with all our customers on their routes.
