English Indoor Asparagus Back to Produce

It's UK grown and the first of the season but is actually a little bit of a cheat! While we have to wait until the 1st of May for the English Asparagus season to officially start, Wye Valley growers in Evesham have begun growing some in poly tunnels. This means that it is not as weather dependant and can flourish irrespective of what is happening outside! According to Nigel Haworth, Chef Patron of Michelin starred Northcote Manor, 'the flavour is wonderful and goes with our scallop and morel mushroom dish perfectly!'
