Fresh produce seasonal highlights – Spring 2026
It’s a busy time for UK farmers and growers as we head into spring. They will be supplying plenty of fresh,
flavoursome produce to satisfy diners who will be looking to move from hearty winter dishes to lighter ones.
Lancashire-grown bok choi, lettuce, leeks, hispi cabbage, cauliflowers and spring greens will become menu staples as we move through the season. And you can look forward to Yorkshire asparagus and
Jersey Royals – both great crowd pleasers that work best when prep and cooking is kept simple.
One of the joys of spring is locally-foraged wild garlic. The vibrant green leaves can easily be added, at the end of cooking, to a variety of dishes to inject extra flavour.
Salads will be increasingly popular as we move through spring, and we’ll be ready with delicious, high quality British lettuce, cucumber and beetroot, and for coleslaws we have onions, carrots and a range of cabbages.
To help add appealing colour to dishes, we’ll be taking regular deliveries of purple sprouting broccoli, beetroot, red cabbage, and Chantenay carrots.
The tastiest British fruits of the season include rhubarb, cherries, and towards the end of spring look out for the best Yorkshire strawberries and raspberries.
