Meet The Team

Ben is the third generation Cluny to be a professional greengrocer. A former chef, Ben uses his knowledge of what chefs want – in terms of products and service – as well as his expertise in fresh produce to lead Class One and head up buying. Ben is passionate about the role Class One plays in inspiring great cooking especially as fresh produce takes centre plate in modern dining.

Martin Holmes

A former chef with many years’ experience in top kitchens including ones with Michelin stars, Martin joined Class One to help the company develop its service for the hospitality industry. He uses his knowledge, contacts and experience to keep the wheels turning at Class One, making sure that daily operations run smoothly and efficiently in what is a busy 24-6 operation.

Claire Mullen

Claire spent over a decade working in dry goods before making the switch to fresh produce. She understands that delivering outstanding customer service is an essential part of Class One’s business and helps us keep our promise to understand every customer’s kitchen and deliver a personal service that exceeds expectations.

Eddie Gill

Eddie joined Class One as an apprentice, learning every aspect of the business with hands-on experience in every department including six months on the night shift. Now he is a key member of the buying team working closely with Ben to ensure that Class One gets the pick of the crop at the best prices from our suppliers.

Neil Wood

Neil manages the night shift and ensures that every order is picked and packed perfectly – so it’s correct, gets delivered on time and in perfect condition. His responsibilities include taking care of deliveries from our suppliers too and making sure that all fresh produce received is handled with care and properly stored. With a keen eye for detail and quality, Neil joined Class One after many years working for a national dry goods company.
